The day, as it happened

Lyndsay and Alex did not want a white wedding. They wanted colour, and they got it: deep burgundy for the bridesmaids, bouquets stacked with roses, anemones and everything in between, and an arch that looked like someone had emptied a flower market over it.

The day moved at an easy pace — portraits along the cliff path, a blue-domed church, the whole group squeezing into one frame on the terrace with the island spread out behind them. Then the sun dropped, and the terrace turned into the best room on the island: one long table, curtains of fairy lights, candles down the middle and the lights of Santorini coming on below.

Small guest list, big night. Exactly what they asked us for.
